A 25-year-old Dabke instructor from Gaza had ambitions to reach international acclaim

A visual human story about Bashar Al-Balbisi, a 25-year-old Gazan, Dabke trainer and leader of the Al-Fursan Dabke troupe. Ambitious to achieve global recognition, his life took a different turn due to the war. During the Al-Baqa massacre, he was injured by shrapnel in his leg, leaving his health in a critical condition and his dreams abruptly altered.

This work is part of the SWITCH Project, a digital initiative that aims to transform human rights and democratic principles into tangible practices in the lives of residents of the Gaza Strip. It is implemented in partnership with Pal-Think for Strategic Studies and Ajyal for Creativity and Development.
